Blackberry & Apple Crumble

Ingredients

Fruit

  • 4 Bramley or eating apples, peeled and sliced
  • 200 g blackberries
  • 50 g caster sugar

Crumble

  • 150 g plain flour
  • 100 g cold butter, cubed
  • 75 g demerara sugar
  • 50 g rolled oats

Method

  1. Prepare the fruit. Toss the apples and blackberries with the sugar in a baking dish.
  2. Make the crumble. Rub the butter into the flour, then stir in the sugar and oats.
  3. Bake. Scatter the crumble over the fruit and bake at 190°C (170°C fan) for 40 minutes until golden and bubbling.

Chef tip

Squeeze a few handfuls of the crumble together to make bigger crunchy clumps.

Storage

Keeps 2 days in the fridge. Freeze unbaked for up to 3 months.
